Rochelle’s Biography

Occupation: KCF Coach

First CrossFit WOD (besides Baseline and Fundamentals): 8/22/11 for time: 1k row, 100 Kettlebell swings, 100 DUs

First thought after First CrossFit WOD:
I wrote this in my comment section: “Better form needed! Best part is being done! Mindi made me do tuck jumps instead of DUs!!! Yuck”

Before CrossFit I did: Everything cardio! Running, Zumba (don’t judge), kick boxing, aerobics, step aerobics and yoga.

Favorite CrossFit exercise: HSPU (makes me feel like a kid again).

Least favorite CrossFit exercise: The Snatch and l are not friends.

I love Kitsap CrossFit because:  It feels like home! At first it was the awesome WODs and the results I was getting, now it’s all about the people and the relationships I’ve developed! It’s a huge part of my day to coach, workout then hang out and chat. I love working out but it’s definitely the people that keep me coming back for more. Helping people achieve their goals and sharing in their accomplishments and well as struggles is beyond rewarding. When I miss a WOD I feel like I miss out on a party!

Most surprising accomplishment: Rope climbs! (I’m terrified of heights) and pistol squats! I never would have dreamed of doing these things at my age! Those  are just a couple! I’ve actually been amazed with a number of things KCF has taught me!!!

Short Term Goals: 5 strict pull-ups

Long Term Goals:
Continuing CrossFit  education and coaching so I can help others discover their mental and physical potential — and a bar muscle up!

Hobbies: Hiking, camping, studying nutrition and CrossFit and organizing (I love diving into a messy closet!) Most of all it’s about family for me. Getting together for a barbecue and playing board games is the best!

Favorite food: I’m not a picky eater but it’s gotta be paleo. If I have to pick it’s Mexican (carne asada) or PHO. No noodles, extra veggies, tripe, tendon, and brisket!

Freestyle: (share something interesting we haven’t covered) I have 3 amazing kids! My son Anthony is married living in Gig Harbor and is the one who introduced me to KCF almost 4 years ago!!! My daughter Alicia and her husband Justin were also members here at KCF before moving to Texas and my youngest daughter Alexa is a freshman at Western.  My family is my biggest support and has allowed me to grow as an individual as well as a mom as an athlete and coach at KCF! I’ve done the Danskin triathlon, the Tough Mudder, Poulsbo half marathon and some local CrossFit competitions. I never would have dreamed that I would be doing these things at 55!!! #ITSNEVERTOOLATE
