Row For Reveille Registration is Live
Alright folks, the most anticipated event for 2020 is now open for registration, Row For Reveille (check it out, we have a slick new website).
What is Row For Reveille?
Row For Reveille (R4R) is a 24-hour rowing challenge held on January 18th, 2020. Technically, it starts on Jan 18th at 9am and concludes at 9am on Jan 19th. No, you don’t row for 24 hours. This is the ultimate interval workout. Participants will row for 10 minutes, as hard as they can, trying to cover as many meters as possible. Then rest for 50 minutes, and repeat for 24 rounds (hours). Your score will be the total number of meters rowed over the course of the entire event. In total, each athlete rows for 4 hours. This is not a team event.
R4R is a fundraising event that supports The Reveille Project (TRP). TRP is an amazing organization that helps disabled veterans transition from active duty to civilian life. TRP veterans receive scholarships to local CrossFit affiliates, nutrition counseling and access to a community that supports them on a social, emotional and spiritual level. At the inaugural R4R we were able to raise more than $20,000 for TRP. In 2020, our goal is to raise more than $30,000. It’s a lofty goal, but we have a plan in place to make that happen.
In addition to the 80 athletes we’ll have here at Kitsap CrossFit, we’ll have at least 4 Remote Division locations throughout the country and likely a handful of individuals doing the event on their own in their garages.
You can register for R4R using this link. The cost for registration is $185. For your registration fee, you will get a spot on a rower, an exclusive participant hoodie sweatshirt, food and drinks throughout the entire event and access to a post-event party.
We are limited to just 80 athletes at Kitsap CrossFit. We do anticipate that this event will sell out. So, do not hesitate in registering. Space is absolutely limited.
We are excited to announce that this year we are also adding a fundraising challenge. You can create a fundraising profile through TRP. Once you have created your profile, share the link with all your friends, family and co-workers to donate in your name. The person who raises the most money will win a rowing machine, ski erg or bike erg from Concept 2.
If you would like to be a part of this amazing event, but not interested in rowing through the day and night, you can always volunteer. We need people to help throughout the event to collect scores for each athlete, help re-set rowers and prep food. If you would like to volunteer, please register through the website. All volunteers will get a t-shirt, food & drink as well as an invitation to the post-event party. We’ll have a sign-up sheet at the gym where volunteers can select their time slots.
We would also love the support of local businesses to help us raise money for The Reveille Project. If you would like to sponsor R4R, for $100 we will create a placard with your business name on it and place it on a rower. In the weeks leading up to the event we will be giving social media recognition to all of our sponsors. We will also give shout outs via social media to all of our sponsors during the event. In addition to sponsoring a rower for the event, we do also have 2 opportunities to be the exclusive sponsor for an hour … the first and last hours of the event. Your business can help us kick it off and close it out. These two hours tend to be the most raucous of the entire event. A donation of $250 will allow your business to Open or Close the event. In addition to the placard and social media shoutouts, we’ll also include your logo on our apparel and read an advertisement on a live feed during the hour that you sponsor.
In addition to our flash new website, we also have social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to follow us. Also, when you register, be sure to let the entire world know and post it on your own social media. Tag us in your post and we’ll share it.
