First Thought After First CrossFit WOD:
I don’t know if I can do this!
Before CrossFit I Did:
Not very much. I was never in sports or had active hobbies and when I did get to a gym, it was inconsistent and short lived.
Favorite CrossFit Movement:
Rope climbs-I still struggle with locking my feet when I get tired, but I look forward to them whenever they’re programmed.
Least Favorite CrossFit Movement:
Running more than 400 meters at a time. But if that gets coupled with thrusters or burpees then bonus hate points.
Most Surprising Accomplishment:
Pistol squats came fairly naturally to me.
Best Part About Kitsap CrossFit:
The combination of awesome coaches, people and positive atmosphere!
Short Term Goals:
Everything?!? Handstand push ups, increasing my deadlift/working on technique, getting better at chest to bar pull ups and increasing my overall conditioning. Oh, and double unders!
Long Term Goals:
Ring muscle ups, bar muscle ups, 200lb back squat
Burgers with blue cheese, bacon, crispy onions and hot sauce.
Favorite Activities Outside Of The Gym:
Painting miniatures, knitting, karaoke, reading, the occasional video game and napping whenever possible.

My “why” is a little complicated. I started CrossFit about 2 1/2 years ago without real expectations that I would like it, and no expectation that I could be good at it. I knew I wanted to be in “better shape”. As a new mom, I just felt lost and overwhelmed and out of control. CrossFit has helped me to recognize that I am strong, and not just in what I can lift or movements that I can do. It’s changed my life and it keeps me coming back for more.
