Brian’s Biography
Occupation: Pirate (Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer-16 yrs)
First CrossFit WOD (aside from Baseline & Fundamentals): 1 mile time trial
First thought after First CrossFit WOD: What have I done? This might have been a mistake.
Before CrossFit I did: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and High School Gymnastics/Wrestling/Swimming/Diving
Favorite CrossFit exercise: Handstand Push Up or any squatting
Least favorite CrossFit exercise: Wall Balls
I love Kitsap CrossFit because: Community. No matter how bad my day is going, it gets better when I get to the Box.
Most surprising accomplishment: I lost a bunch of weight in almost no time thanks to KCF. I kinda thought I was beyond repair.
Short Term Goals: I feel like I need to get my motor back. It just seems like I have been struggling to keep the pace that I want lately.
Long Term Goals: Retire from the Navy and learn to be a butcher when I’m not coaching CrossFit. Just seems like I would dig it.
Hobbies: Our dogs and cheering for the KU Jayhawks, Kansas City Royals and the Chiefs!
Favorite food: I oppose this question due to the fact that it is impossible to answer. However, If I had to pick one it would be Talenti or Bacon or Snickerdoodles or Steak.
Freestyle: I love this stuff. I try to have fun in every class whether I’m the coach or the athlete. I know that the people who come to KCF to get fit have other options but it matters to me that they chose here so I do my best every time. I believe a big part of reaching your goals is being able to work towards them in a place that supports your effort toward those goals. KCF has always been that for me and I hope to do the same for its members. Go Royals!
